WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING

In climatology, the expression "global warming" is used to indicate the change in the Earth's climate that developed from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century and is still ongoing, characterized in general by the increase in the average global temperature and from atmospheric phenomena associated with it such as floods, drought, desertification, melting of ice, warming of the seas and rising oceans.

WHY THERE IS THE GLOBAL WARMING

The causes of global warming are mainly due to human activity, responsible in particular for the emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere. Among the main causes of global warming we find:

THE EFFECTS

Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature. This poses many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth.Nearly all land areas are seeing more hot days and heat wavesChanges in temperature cause changes in rainfall. This results in more severe and frequent storms. and wild fires.

Whales are very important because they breathe large quantities of CO2, counteracting global warming

without new policies, green houses emission will increase to 50%

2030 sustainable development goals

Goal 13 calls for urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. It is intrinsically linked to all 16 of the other Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. To address climate change, countries adopted the Paris Agreement to limit global temperature rise to well below 2 degrees Celsius.

STEP

Walk, cycle or take public transport The world’s roads are clogged with vehicles, most of them burning diesel or petrol.

Save energy at home because much of our electricity and heat is powered by coal, oil and gas.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

STEP

Eating more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, and less meat and dairy, can significantly lower your environmental impact
