What are ACE's and why do they matter?
ACE's (Adverse Childhood Expereiences) are traumatic events that occur in childhood-Test developed by Feletti et al., (1998) and study was conducted by the CDC and Kaiser Includes several categories within the questionnaire
These ACE scores are important because they not only indicate potential severiety but the scores reflect health outcomes (Burke Harris, 2014)
Prevalence Rates and Statistics
-1 in 6 adults experienced an ACE score of 4+-61% of adults had a score of 1 ACE-Leading causes of death are highly associated with ACE scores-Screening and preventing ACE's could significantly reduce the amount of depression in adults
According to the CDC information page on ACE's
How ACE's relate to me/my future profession
Write a great headline
Our brain is ready to consume visual content. Some data: 90% of the information we process comes through our sight, and we process visual content up to 60,000 times faster than text. That's why visual communication ismore effective.

- Activate and surpriseyour audience
- Make your audience rememberthe message
- It is organized, hierarchicaland structured
Hope for changes moving forward
-Hope that doctors and other professionals advocate for not only the implementation of ACE exams-reinforce education about ACE's -develop treatment modalities-focus on integrating positive experiences and resilience to combat the aversity-continue research and continue to refine the ACE questionnaire
-further research should be explored -Plan to bring this knowledge into my own practice and volunteering-Continuing to build my knowledge and impact of ACE's
Conclusion
-ACE scores are not only a measure of childhood trauma, but indicate health and life expectancy-Greater awareness and prevention -> positive impact in public health outcomes
