Where do we come from?

Europan Comission

We participate in the European Blue School programme promoted by the European Commission, whose objective is to "create awareness and a sense of responsibility for our ocean through educational projects based on ocean literacy"

Although its hinterland is oriented towards agricultural activities, the primary sector is mainly focused on the exploitation of marine resources: sardine fishing, mussel aquaculture in rafts and shellfishing on the shallows. To a large extent, these resources are exploited by the industrial activity through the production of preserves.

Primary and secundary sector

Tourism is a booming sector in Rianxo, the cultural offer is mixed with the sun and beach and its strategic location close to major centers of cultural interest such as Santiago de Compostela.

The current facilities in which we are located were inaugurated at the end of the 1990s. They consist of two buildings equipped with ordinary classrooms, specific classrooms such as computer and vocational training, didactic departments, library, laboratories and administration spaces..

An educational project based on service-learning methodologies that combine classroom actions with actions in the territory and the communities that live there.present, past and future involve our students in the awareness of environmental conservation and the defence of sustainable development.

The final objective of the creative ones is the development of digital competence, the use of digital technologies in the teaching-learning process and the transformation of schools into digitally competent educational organisations.

EDLG

It is a consultative and dynamic body for the linguistic and cultural aspects of the schools. It is part of the administrative, teaching and didactic structure of the centres and is made up of teachers and professors from the different levels, students (when age permits) and representatives of non-teaching staff. Its main function is to ensure that students can become proficient in the Galician language and use it with dignity and normally.

Equality and equity

Under the coordination of the educational guidance department in collaboration with the didactic departments of the centre, educational and learning actions are promoted that favour contexts of equality. A determined and active defence of ecofeminism against sexist violence as well as the social awareness of the educational community in favour of equal rights, paying special attention to the most vulnerable minorities in this area.

E-Dixgal

Digital Education

Abalar Project, as an initiative to transform the traditional classroom into a digital classroom, with the involvement of the entire educational community: parents, legal guardians, teachers and students. To achieve this, Abalar provides schools and the educational community with the following elements: - Connectivity and equipment - Virtual work environments and digital content. - Training and dissemination actions for teachers and families. - Participation channels through web spaces, apps and tools for both teachers and families.
