The Water Cycle

The journey that all water takes while traveling through the various states of the Earth is known as the water cycle.

PAIGE SCHULZE

3rd grade Science

Explore the processes that all water takes!

Directions and Objectives!

Knowing the water cycle lets us to better understand the starting point of our water, its journey throughout the planet, and how important it is for life.On the image, explore and click around for the small clicker circles around the picture and try to find to see if you can find them all! There will be one hidden clicker circle. You will find images, videos, captions, or fun facts under the clicker circles. Each clicker will have important information that you need to know for upcoming learning so make sure you find all of them!(There should be 5 clicker circles!)I want you to be able to identify the different points inthe water cyle when finished. If you thinkyou need to take notes, do so!

Runoff is water that flows over the ground's surface instead of soaking into it. It travels through rivers and streams, eventually reaching oceans, lakes, and ponds. Runoff is important because it helps replenish our water sources.

In your science journal, answer this question. I know you don't know much yet about the water cycle, but we are learning! Just give your best guess. How do you think precipitation contribute to the water cycle?

Did you know that a single drop of water can spend more than 3,000 years in the ocean before evaporating into the air and becoming part of a cloud? That's a pretty long journey for such a tiny droplet!

Watch this video about the water cycle and the journey all water takes! I want you to have your science journal out and ready while watching so you can think this question: "Where does the water vapour disapear?"When you have finished watching the video, write the answer to your question in your science journal.
