Q&A conMampo
During my visit to Mampostea'o, I was surprised to learn about a new part of graphic design that I had little knowledge of before. I had not considered the area of publicity when taking this course and had only heard and thought of my options were working for a printing company, freelancing, or pursuing a career in the arts. (which is fine, but, pa eso cojia bellas artes)... I had the opportunity to interact with some professionals who are doing something different than what I had expected to do with this career. The experience was quite refreshing as I gained insights into their dynamic working environment, how they achieved publicity, the importance of ongoing adaptation and having an open mind, and how they continuously acquire new skills. I hope and aspire to be in their positions in the near future.
Zyl's brief
An aspect of Mamposteao I found interesting is their flexible and unconventional office. Most agencies follow a rigid corporate culture that functions as a professional and practical environment. However, Mamposteao relies on an easygoing workplace with many books, games, art pieces, and comfortable couches to help stimulate spontaneous ideas in such a demanding field. Many would judge this work system as strange or unreliable, but I believe it matches the natural flow of creativity and assists their productivity. The team enthusiastically welcomed our numerous questions and elaborated with indispensable information because we displayed genuine interest in their agency and projects. They even invited us to walk around the office and observe their outlines and sketches of projects they exhibit as a reminder for themselves of how much they have grown as an agency. Publicity is not for everyone, and with that thought, it is essential to understand and appreciate the amount of thought that goes behind creating a campaign. Therefore, an assignment like this delivers a fresh opportunity, speaking as a student who desperately wanted to engage with resources of the like.
