SIMPLE PAST TENSE
IMPORTANT
Verbs in regular past tense you add /ed/. Example: Visit = Visited. If the verb end in a consonant followed by /y/, change it to = ied. Example: Study = Studied. If the verb end in a vowel followed by /y/, add /ed/ with no changes. Example: Stay = Stayed. For one-syllable words that end in consonant-vowel-consonant (except x),double the last letter and add -ed. Example: Jog = Jogged, Irregular verbs. There is no rule you can follow when you write the past participle forms of irregular verbs. You have to memorize them
What is simple present tense?
Verb tense that is used to talk about things that happened or existed before now. You use past when you a define point in time: last week, yesturday, a long time ago, until 2010, in February.
