The United States of America is a country in North America. It borders two countries: Canada in the north and Mexico to the south. It also borders the Pacific Ocean on the west coast and the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast.

2. History

Before being colonized, tribes lived in North America, which would live by hunting.

After America was discovered, the French and the English started colonizing the territory which now is part of the USA.

In 1776, the English colonies on the east coast declared their independence and started moving west, taking territory away from the tribes.

During the XIXth and XXth century, the USA fought many wars and participated in both world wars.

Today the USA is one of the most powerful countries in the world and , having been colonized by England centuries ago, they speak English.

3. Flag

The American flag, also known as the Stars and Stripes, is a powerful symbol of freedom and democracy. It consists of 13 horizontal stripes representing the original 13 colonies, and 50 stars representing the current 50 states.

4. Capital

Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States. Its name comes from the first president of the USA, George Washington. It isn't the biggest city in the USA, and it isn't located in any state, but in the District of Columbia. It is home to many iconic landmarks such as the White House, the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial

The USA is a melting pot of cultures, with influences from all over the world. This diversity is reflected in the country's art, music, food, and traditions. From Native American heritage to the traditions brought by immigrants, the USA's culture is a rich tapestry of different customs and practices.

The USA celebrates a wide variety of festivals and holidays, ranging from cultural and religious celebrations to national events. Each festival, such as Thanksgiving, Independence Day, and Mardi Gras, showcases the diverse cultural fabric of the nation.

The country's influence on global pop culture cannot be overstated, from Hollywood movies and TV shows to the influence of American music and fashion around the world. American cultural exports have had a lasting impact on the world's entertainment and lifestyle trends.

The USA is famous for its fast food. Lots of famous food brands were born here like McDonalds or Burger King. Even though hamburgers and fries aren't originally from the USA, today they are considered a symbol of American culture.

New York City, often simply referred to as New York, is the most populous city in the United States. It's known for its iconic skyscrapers, Broadway shows, and Times Square. The city is a melting pot of cultures, offering a wide variety of cuisines, art, and entertainment. New York is home to famous landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Mount Rushmore
