The United States of America is a country in North America. It borders two countries: Canada in the north and Mexico to the south. It also borders the Pacific Ocean on the west coast and the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast.

Before being colonized, tribes lived in North America, which would live by hunting.
After America was discovered, the French and the English started colonizing the territory which now is part of the USA.
In 1776, the English colonies on the east coast declared their independence and started moving west, taking territory away from the tribes.
During the XIXth and XXth century, the USA fought many wars and participated in both world wars.
Today the USA is one of the most powerful countries in the world and , having been colonized by England centuries ago, they speak English.

The American flag, also known as the Stars and Stripes, is a powerful symbol of freedom and democracy. It consists of 13 horizontal stripes representing the original 13 colonies, and 50 stars representing the current 50 states.

Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States. Its name comes from the first president of the USA, George Washington. It isn't the biggest city in the USA, and it isn't located in any state, but in the District of Columbia. It is home to many iconic landmarks such as the White House, the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial
