Passion
The galley kitchen is where the magic happens. Dough for empanadas is prepared ahead and fried fresh every day. Graciela (pictured) is the heart of the operation. She puts years of food and catering experience into her craft.
Variety
The food is a combination of traditional recipes from Ecuador with others from across South America. Empanadas from different countries are a staple. The menu also has a rotating list of specials based on feedback.
Character
La Morena's interior is an extension of its food. The walls feature artwork from across South America, including pieces brought back from Ecuador by Marcelo. Music is a big part of the atmosphere, with customers sometimes dancing to their favourite Latin American tracks.
Personalities
The front of the house is where the action happens and community is built. Often handled by Marcelo (pictured) or his son Andres, it's a place to catch up with customers and exchange hugs and handshakes.
