Join the two L2 sections (2.11 & 2.12) of the LRC together, enabling students to walk through. Knock through the walls encompassing the corridor into the LRC. If no knock through is possible, open out the existing door frames to their full width. Add turnstile or similar, plus security sensor pads and a possible self service terminal to both ends of the corridor.
Level 2 - Corridor divides the LRC into two. L2 books/L2 ICT area Suggestion - Join the two Level 2 sections of the LRC together, enabling students to walk through. Knock through the walls shown above, or open out the existing door frames to their full width. Move the L3 book stock into the current L2 ICT area, keeping all physical collections on a single level and improving accessibility. Add turnstiles or similar, security sensor pads and a possible self service terminal to both ends of the corridor. This would create new entrances to the LRC and encourage the flow of users through the space.
