Биография писателя
Виктор Петрович Астафьев родился 1 мая 1924 года в селе Овсянка Красноярского края. Он был пятым ребенком в семье Петра Астафьева и Лидии Потылицыной. В 1931 году, когда Астафьеву было семь лет, его отец был арестован и сослан в Карелию, а мать погибла. Астафьев остался на попечении бабушки. В 1942 году он был призван в армию и участвовал в Великой Отечественной войне. После войны он работал журналистом и писателем. Свое первое произведение он написал в 27 лет, рассказ «Гражданский человек» стал первым в литературной карьере Астафьева. Он правдиво писал и о красоте сибирских деревень, и о суровых военных буднях: автор считал, что главное — «оставаться верным писателем жизненной правде». Астафьев умер 29 ноября 2001 года в Москве.

Шла Великая Отечественная война. Несмотря на бронь, 18-летний парнишка в 1942 году ушел добровольцем на фронт. При форсировании Днепра он получил контузию и повреждение глаз. В 1944 году в боях за освобождение Польши - сквозное пулевое ранение левого предплечья. От строевой службы был отстранен: плохо работала рука, а глаз почти не видел. За смелость и решительность, проявленные в годы войны, Астафьев награжден медалями "За отвагу", "За освобождение Польши", "За победу над Германией" и Орденом Красной Звезды. Много работ переменил будущий писатель. В декабре 1950 года Астафьев начал посещать литературный кружок при газете "Чусовской рабочий". Фронтовика Астафьева возмутил один из надуманных, неправдивых рассказов о войне. И он за одну ночь написал великолепный, хоть и печальный рассказ "Гражданский человек", посвященный его фронтовому другу. Многие из его произведений посвящены Великой Отечественной войне.

Мемориальный комплекс писателя в селе Овсянка
Тихое село Овсянка находится недалеко от Красноярска. Сюда стоит приехать за культурной и природной составляющей. Деревня знаменита тем, что здесь родился и жил Виктор Петрович Астафьев, сибирский писатель, человек большой души и сильного духа, что прослеживается и в его произведениях. В селе находится музейный комплекс, посвященный Виктору Петровичу, в него входят дом-музей писателя, где сохранены подлинная обстановка и личные вещи, а также музей повести «Последний поклон», которую Астафьев писал более 30 лет. Этот музей еще называется «Дом бабушки Екатерины».

Виктор Астафьев дружил со многими известными советскими писателями. Особенно близко он общался с Константином Воробьевым. Их дружба началась с повести К. Воробьева «Алексей, сын Алексея», опубликованной в журнале «Молодая гвардия» в 1963 году. В. Астафьеву так понравилось произведение, что он написал письмо в редакцию с пометкой «Переслать лично автору». Воробьев прислал ему ответ. Переписывались они до самой смерти Константина Воробьева в 1975 году.

Один из самых необычных литературных памятников России связан с повестью Астафьева «Царь-рыба». Его установили в 2004 году, к 80-летию писателя, на смотровой площадке недалеко от Овсянки. Статуя изображает енисейского осетра — ту самую царь-рыбу.

Памятник В. П. Астафьеву в Красноярске
Один из самых необычных литературных памятников России связан с повестью Астафьева «Царь-рыба». Его установили в 2004 году, к 80-летию писателя, на смотровой площадке недалеко от Овсянки. Статуя изображает енисейского осетра — ту самую царь-рыбу.
