What is Pluto? How is Pluto different from every other planet? Pluto is known as a dwarf planet. A dwarf planet is a small object that orbits the sun. However, the main difference between dwarf planets and regular planets is that they are much smaller, so they can't be classified as planets. Dwarf planets are smaller than Earth's moon! Pluto has a lot of asteroids and space rocks hitting its path, Pluto isn't able to absorb these rocks and asteroids like the bigger planets can.
