- Once the Air mouse is active, you can use the orange button on your remote to make selections.
- Think of the orange button like the left click on a mouse, or the enter button on a conventional keyboard.
- Note: The Air mouse button is only an on/off switch, it is not an enter or select button.

Give voice requests directly to Merlyn using the Push-to-Talk button on the remote. Press and hold the push-to-talk button, wait for the beep, and give your request. For example: Press and hold the Push-to-Talk button and say, "Go to Youtube." A new YouTube tab will open in your browser.

"Open Google Classroom” "Go to GoNoodle” "Open Google Slides” "Go to Khan Academy" and more.

Or ask for what you want with one voice request. For example: "Search on Khan Academy for fractions." "Search on YouTube for the writing process." "Search on Newsela for articles about climate change." "Search on Nearpod for ancient Egypt." "Search on Google for images of the diffusion of innovation theory." and more.

Then, use the Airmouse to hover te cursor over the video you want to open and press the orange button in the enter of the D-Pad to select the video. Once the video is open, the center orange button becomes play and pause.

Merlyn Chat also has a built-in safety check to make sure the answers are appropriate for all settings. To use Merlyn Chat, just press and hold the Push-to-Talk button and ask any question. Merlyn chat will automatically open and respond. You can also access Merlyn Chat from the overlay, and with a custom button on the remote.

Shortcuts are custom commands that can be created from the Teacher Toolkit. Click on the "Shortcuts" tile, click on "+Add a Shortcut" and follow the onscreen instructions. For example: If you want to create a custom voice request that points to a birthday song on YouTube, you can create up to three voice requests by typing one in each field such as, "Happy Birthday""Let's Celebrate""Birthday Song" Then, each time you press and hold the Push-to-Talk button, say one of the above three requests to open the link you pasted into the URL field.
