HIPPIE CULTURE

Social class
Origins
Outfits

They belong to a social class whose ideals are simplicity and poverty, and they practice the hobby of meditation, they’re also pacifists and against violence and don’t use smartphones or social media much in fact they would rather go for a walk in nature. They aren’t seen as organized people and others may think that they make use of drugs but these are just some stereotypes and these aren’t always true.

The original hippies thought that they should base their life on trying to reach their personal freedom, to free themselves from the society’s norm and tried to express their own individuality. They did it by singing and listening to songs that represented their style of living, an example could be "All You Need is Love" from The Beatles. They saw the world around them in many different ways but they all focused their time to be their true selves focusing on their inner harmony.

Hippies are people that dress in a very particular way, their clothes are very colorful and sometimes with mandala’s texture. Usually they wear low-waisted jeans with flares or long colorful skirts with aztec print. They also wear cropped t-shirts or handmade crochet jackets matched with boots with fringes or converse. They wear a lot of jewelry like long necklaces with the symbol of peace, colorful sunglasses and bandanas.
