"Miseria e Nobiltà" è un film del 1954 tratto dall'opera teatrale di Eduardo Scarpetta.

Il film segue le vicende di Antonio e Camillo, due ex trasformisti che vivono di piccole truffe e raggiri, creando situazioni paradossali per raggiungere i propri obiettivi. Tra le scene iconiche, spicca quella della vendita della fontana di Trevi.

Totò, nel suo capolavoro finale con Pier Paolo Pasolini, rompe con le commedie tradizionali. Il film rappresenta il desiderio dell'attore di essere ricordato al di là della sua morte

Uscito nel 1956, il film è il più celebre di Totò con il regista Camillo Mastrocinque. Totò, affiancato da Peppino de Filippo, offre un approfondito affresco dei contrasti tra nord e sud.

"Guardie e Ladri" segna il primo grande successo di Totò, in coppia con Aldo Fabrizi, nel contesto del Neorealismo
