History

They were born from the need that our most remote ancestors had to protect themselves from attacks by animals and other people and also attack them. The weapons, which made hunting possible, were the greatest discoveries or achievements of Prehistory. The truth is that with weapons man became a hunter and acquired security and confidence in his own physical and intellectual forces.

Today, technology continues to advance. Advances in artificial intelligence, robotics and nanotechnology could lead to completely new and revolutionary weapons.

One of the greatest advances in the field of weapons was the invention of gunpowder as it allowed the creation of firearms such as muskets and cannons.

The 20th century saw weapons reach unprecedented levels of destruction. During both world wars, chemical and biological weapons were used, causing great suffering and death.

Inventor

The first inventor of firearms was Daniel Leavitt, an early American inventor who, together with his partner Edwin Wesson, patented the first revolver after Samuel Colt, and later manufactured one of the first American revolvers.

Types of weapons

Weapons can be divided into several categories, such as firearms, edged weapons, and non-lethal weapons.Among the firearms we find these: machine guns, rifles, shotguns, sniper rifle, assault rifles, submachine guns, pistols and revolvers.
