A paddle tennis court measures 20 meters long by 10 meters wide, being divided by a net and leaving a 10x10 meter square on each side, this being the playing field for each couple.
- The serve must be executed from the service zone, without crossing the lines and below the waist.
- The serve must be directed to the opponent's diagonal serve box.
- The ball may bounce once on the ground before being hit.
- It can bounce off the metal walls and fence, but not off the ground outside the court.
- Players can hit the ball in the air (volley) and perform smashes.
- It is not allowed to hit the ball directly in the air if it is in the service box.
- The ball can hit the walls and the net, as long as it first hits the ground within the boundaries of the court.
- After each game, players change sides of the court.
- After the first point, each team performs two serves before the serve switches to the opposing team.
Juan Lebrón is a professional paddle player from El Puerto de Santa María, Spain. Born in 1995, he began his career in this sport from the age of 7 or 8. Shortly after, with shovel in hand, he managed to become national champion of the junior tournament. Going to compete in the world championship of the same category.
The history of paddle tennis begins in Mexico at the end of the 60s when a businessman, Enrique Corcuera, adapted a piece of land on his farm to play this sport with wooden paddles and a ball.
