We need your help to get them back! To do this, you have to go through the different rooms of the museum, answering the questions correctly. Be careful, you get a work of art for each correct answer, but on the other hand, a work will be destroyed for each wrong answer. Don't worry, there are documents available to guide you . Good luck!

Someone has stolen all the works from the museum!

Congratulation! You have successfully restored the manuscripts! Let's go to the next room.

ROOM 2

Oh no! You have lost. You have to start all over again!

On August 19, 1839, during an official session at the Institut de France, Jacques Louis Daguerre disclosed the first photographic process to which he gave his name: this was the birth of the daguerreotype.

The steam locomotive was invented in 1804 by Richard Trevithick in the United Kingdom. Steam traction remained the most commonly used type of traction, from the birth of the railway until the 1950s.

In 1792, gas lighting William Murdoch experiments with gas lamps. In fact, Murdoch and Minckelers made the gas lamp usable thanks to the principle of distillation of coal in a closed environment.

Resources

Steel The industrial revolution appeared thanks to the development of new manufacturing methods and conversion of cast iron into steel. In 1856, the Bessemer process was capable of directly producing steel from cast iron. Its improvement by Thomas and Gilchrist allows its generalization.

1856: first oil drilling Indeed, according to the archives, on August 27, 1859, the American Edwin L. Drake extracted oil for the first time by drilling, at a depth of around twenty meters, in Titusville, Pennsylvania.

On March 2, 1791, Claude Chappe (1763-1805) succeeded in the first public attempt at distance communication between two municipalities 14 km apart: he had just invented the optical telegraph.

Resources

The goal of the game is simple: you have 4 rooms (numbered 1 to 4). Each room has 4 objects and you will have to select one based on the clue given to you. When you think you have found the right item, click on it and a number will appear. You then have the choice between moving to the next room by clicking on the green button or returning to the room to inspect another object with the red button at the top left. At the end of the 4 rooms you should have collected 4 numbers collected according to the order of the rooms. All you have to do is choose the right code and that's it.

you're almost there. You have now arrived at the penultimate room.

Be careful! if it is not the right name at the end , you will have to start the test again from the beginning!

But in order to get there you will have to find the name of the hidden invention. All you have to do is answer the questions correctly. Each correct answer will give you a letter. At the end you will have to collect all these letters to find the word that will help you to find the complete name of this invention.

Finally, you have reached the last room. You are so close to the end!

The correct letter is "S", don't forget to write it!

The "seed drill" was a major innovation that was able to plant seeds in the earth instead of on the surface which would cause the seeds to be blown away or eaten by animals. This innovation greatly increased crop yields simply by inserting the seeds into the ground.

Though he did not invent the "sewing machine", Elias Howe patented the first sewing machine in 1846, which improved upon an earlier version invented by Walter Hunt. This new machine used a lock-stitch, pulling thread from two different sources to reinforce the stitches.

The correct letter is "E", don't forget to write it!

In New Jersey in 1877, Thomas Edison invented the "phonograph". This device could record and play sounds. To record, you spoke into a cylinder attached to the device, and the sound waves moved a needle in the device which created a groove on a piece of tin foil. Sound could be then played back by a stylus that traced the groove, causing it to reproduce the sound

Thomas Moore

The first wooden "icebox" was created by Thomas Moore in Maryland in 1802. It allowed perishable foods to be kept fresh for longer without it needing to be smoked, dried or canned. It also changed the ways that people could prepare food before the invention of the modern freezer.

The spinning jenny is a multi-spindle spinning frame, and was one of the key developments in the industrialization of weaving during the early Industrial Revolution. It was invented in 1764 by James Hargreaves. The device reduced the amount of work needed to produce cloth, with a worker able to work eight or more spools at once.

What was the name of the hidden invention ?

The steam engine was invented by Scottish engineer James Watt in 1769. It is considered the first truly efficient steam engine, as it solved the problem of energy wastage through the use of a separate condenser.

what is important to remember

Welc

The industrial revolution took place in Britain from the late 18th to the 19th century. It is named the "industrial Revolution" because it was a time that many people in Britain stopped farming and strated working in factories.

what is important to remember

Welc

Before the Industrial revolution, many people in Britain lived on farms, where they looked after animals and grew their own food. The fastest way to get anywere was by horse and cart. Crafts, such as making pots and cloth, were completed by hands.

And then a lots of new inventions were created which started to make life easier...
