EMPOWERMENT HUBS
We formed six groups, each comprising 10-11 people, with every group assigned a different civilization. Teachers facilitated the process, guiding each group to compile and share information about their designated civilization. The collaboration was seamless as teams worked together to gather insights and prepare presentations, culminating in dynamic showcases held in the playground.
UOI: TUNNEL OF TIME
TIn this unit, we embarked on a fascinating journey to learn the ancient art of writing from different civilizations. Imagine writing like the ancient Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks, Mesopotamians, and people from the Indus Valley! We set up little stands where we practiced writing in each style.
Our adventure continued with a field trip to a Roman villa near La Garriga. It was incredible to walk among the ruins and learn about the lives of the ancient Romans. To wrap up, we embarked on an exciting project: creating a Time Capsule. Each of us filled a shoebox with information and items related to the six ancient civilizations we studied. It was like capturing a piece of history to share with the future!

UOI: MATTER and FORCES
PYP 8
Exciting news from PYP8! Students have kicked off a thrilling new unit delving into Matter and Forces. They've dived deep into understanding the fundamental nature of matter, exploring its properties, physical and chemical changes, as well as various types of mixtures and methods of separation. To put their newfound knowledge into action, they eagerly headed to the lab, where they engaged in numerous experiments. Guided by the scientific method, they meticulously crafted purposes, formulated hypotheses, analyzed their results, and crafted comprehensive conclusions. Through hands-on experimentation and rigorous scientific inquiry, students are embracing the wonders of the physical world and refining their critical thinking skills along the way.
UOI: BIODIVERSITY
In this unit, students learned all about biodiversity! They started by figuring out what makes something alive or not. Then, they got to explore how living things interact with each other and with things that aren't alive. They even learned about how animals eat each other in food chains! It was super cool to see how everything in nature works together. Students were tasked with showing what a balanced ecosystem and an imbalanced one look like using real examples. They explored places like forests or polluted rivers to see the differences. They also learned about why ecosystems get out of balance, like pollution or habitat destruction, and what happens because of it, such as losing species or clean water. Finally, they researched ways in which humans are conserving and/or restoring specific ecosystems.

PYP Exhibition
The PYP Exhibition is a very important project that 5th grade students do. This project marks the end of the PYP Programme and the start of the MYP Programme. By teams, students focus on a theme and start working on it, to create their own unit of inquiry. Until the end of the year, they keep working so that they can explain it to the families.

LECTURAS AMIGAS
FICTION OR NON-FICTION?

RULER
MY FIRST EMOTIONAL AID KIT
TAKE WHAT YOU NEED

INTERNATIONAL DAYS
MOTHER TONGUE LANGUAGE DAY
Our school was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated International Mother Tongue Language Day! The day started with a special good morning message broadcasted over the loudspeaker, reminding us all of the importance of embracing and cherishing our native languages. But that was just the beginning! Our amazing fifth-grade students took charge and organized a heartwarming morning meeting with each grade level. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to share stories, songs, and greetings in their mother tongues. From Spanish to Mandarin, from Arabic to French, our school echoed with the beautiful sounds of diverse languages, uniting us in celebration. As we bid farewell to International Mother Tongue Language Day, let's carry the spirit of celebration and appreciation for our languages in our hearts every day. After all, our languages are not just a part of who we are; they are the very essence of our being. Here's to the beauty of language and the richness of diversity in our school and beyond!
WOMEN'S DAY
Can you guess all the languages that we are speaking?

But hold on tight because Thursday was the ultimate showstopper! Primary students unleashed their creativity, dressing up according to their grades. PYP 4 transformed into Mario, PYP 5 became adorable Minions, PYP 6 roared as zoo animals, PYP 7 invaded as aliens, PYP 8 stepped into the shoes of famous movie characters, and MYP 1 took the stage as signers. Thursday morning turned into a party paradise in our playground, where students from nursery to MYP 1 flaunted their fabulous costumes. There was dancing, laughter, and a contest for Primary students. We rated each other's costumes and dance moves, and guess who stole the show? PYP 5 and PYP 8 took home the crown and won a surprise field trip! But the carnival fun didn't stop there. We headed to the forest for a snack and celebrated Dijous Llarder in style. It was a week filled with craziness, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Carnival at our school – a wild and amazing adventure!
CARNIVAL
Hey Carnival Enthusiasts! Get ready to rewind and relive the whirlwind of fun we had when El Rei i la Reina Carnestoltes paid us a visit on a fantastic Friday. They left us with a week full of wild and wacky instructions, turning our school into a carnival playground! First up, Monday had us rolling out of bed and straight into school in our comfiest pyjamas. Picture this: a sea of sleepyheads ready for a day of cozy learning. Tuesday brought out our inner hair stylists – crazy hair day was in full swing! From rainbow colors to gravity-defying styles, our school turned into a wild hair extravaganza. Midweek, on Wednesday, we got eco-friendly with a costume recycling day. It was a creative challenge, and we rocked some revamped costumes that brought the playground to life.

Fifth and sixth grade students are currlently spending a nice week in SEK Les Alpes. Look at them!
You know what's super cool? It's not just about showing off. Nope! It's about understanding, reflecting, and owning our learning journey. We were the captains of the ship, steering through the sea of our accomplishments and challenges, and it felt empowering! Explaining, reflecting, and sharing our growth with our families was both exciting and nerve-wracking, but in the end, it was so worth it. We could see the pride in your eyes as we talked about our journey, and that made it all the more special. So, thanks for being our audience and cheering us on during our Student-Led Conferences. It's a memory we'll cherish, and it's another step in our adventure of learning and growing.
STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES
We just wrapped up our Student-Led Conferences, and it was a total game-changer! Remember how you heard about it at the beginning of the school year? Well, we finally got to dive into it, and let us tell you – it was an experience we won't forget! Picture this: 25 minutes of undivided attention, just us and our families. We had the chance to be the stars of the show, guiding our loved ones through our selected achievements, favorite assignments, and activities that made our eyes light up. It was like having our very own spotlight to share our learning journey. We got to pick what to showcase – the moments that made us proud, the challenges we conquered, and the triumphs that made us who we are.

SPRING OPEN DAY
Hey there! Did you hear about our Spring Open Day last Saturday, March 16th? We hosted Tastes of the World, and it was incredible! Families set up stands representing different countries, offering a variety of delicious foods to try. From football matches to fair games, there was non-stop fun for everyone. Plus, classrooms were open for exploration. Best of all, the proceeds went to support Sant Joan de Déu and UNICEF. It was a fantastic day filled with food, fun, and giving back!

MYP 1
