Past Simple of "To Be" verb

GRAMMAR

Reminder: We use "was" and "were" to talk about actions or states that happened in the past.

I. We use "was" and "wasn't" for SINGULAR subjects. - Examples: I was happy yesterday. SHE was tired last night.

February 10:My roommates and I woke up at 6:00 am to catch the 7:30 am bus to San Sebastian. We were excited to eat Basque cheesecake and walk around the city. Although, we were surprised to find out that one of our friends missed the bus! She wasn't able to wake up on time and was left behind.

February 10:We arrived to San Sebastian around quarter to 10 and walked to our Airbnb. We were surprised at how beautiful the apartment was. It was located by the river so the views were amazing! At around 11:00 am, we decided to walk around the shopping centre and we passed by the church. Next on our list was to see Playa de la Concha which wasn't that far away.

February 10:The weather wasn't the best; it was raining, so we visited the Aquarium before eating lunch. We were excited to see the different sea creatures they had on display. My favorite was the jellyfish. We finished at around 2:30 and headed back to the old town to eat lunch. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered a slice of tortilla de patata and drank it with a calimocho. After lunch, we were feeling tired already so we decided to walk home by passing through the main square, town hall, and the beautiful church. We were able to take a long nap before eating dinner.

February 10:After our nap, we went back to the old town to eat some dinner. My friends and I were hungry so we ordered Mexican food to fill us up. It was good! After a long night of talking, eating, and taking photos, we were tired and got home at around 11:00 pm and slept.

February 11:The weather wasn't bad so we got up early to eat some breakfast and then take a bus to Monte Igueldo. We were very excited to visit the theme park to ride the funicular, and rollercoaster, and play some parlor games. After a fun afternoon at Monte Igueldo, we went to the shopping centres and supermarkets to buy some snacks to bring for our walking tour.

February 11:We walked around the famous parts of San Sebastian and it finished just in time for the parade. We weren't bored at all! The dancers and parade floats looked amazing and colorful. I was so hungry after, I ordered a lot of food. My favorites were the monkfish skewer and chistorra! After a long and tiring day, we headed back home to sleep as we were going to travel back to Logrono the next day.

February 12:I was awake at 10:30 to fix my things and get ready. Before going to the bus stop, I went back to the shopping centre to eat some brunch and go to FNAC to buy a book. It was raining heavily again so by 11:30 am, we were already resting at the bus station. All in all, it was a great carnival weekend and I can't wait to visit San Sebastian again.
