Introduction

"The Hunger Games" is a dystopian young adult novel trilogy written by Suzanne Collins, set in a post-apocalyptic nation called Panem. It depicts a society divided into 12 districts, each oppressed by the Capitol. Annually, the Capitol hosts the Hunger Games, a televised event where a boy and girl (tributes) from each district fight to death until one victor remains. The story follows Katniss Everdeen, who volunteers as tribute to spare her sister. Through her journey, the series explores themes as survival, oppression, and rebellion.

In the 74th hunger games, Primrose Everdeen gets chosen as the female tribute. Katniss, her sister goes as a volunteer to save her with Peeta Mellark, the other tribute. They get to the capitol and Cinna and Latarsha get them ready to the presentation parade. Haymitch gives them some piece of advice to survive there and explains to them how the presents work. The go into the arena and Peeta goes with a strong team that is looking forward to kill Katniss. She is by her own. Lastly, they get together and survive.

Peeta and Katniss go on a tour in the districts after winning and they see that some people wants to rebel against the capitol, and the president Snow threats Katniss and forces her to calm them down.In the 75th hunger games aniversary they celebrate the "Quarter Quell", and they take 2 past winners from other hunger games from each district. Haymitch gets chosen with Katniss as the tributes of district 12, but Peeta presents as a volunteer to protect Katniss in the hunger games, this time only one will survive. They end up falling in love, makíng some new friends. They also make a team in the arena and a plan to kill almost all tributes. The plan turns out completly different and Katniss, with other tributes, gets rescued from the arena.

Katniss wakes up and discovers the actual plan: the rebelion against the capitol has come true.District 12 has been destroyed and she finds out district 13 is actually still operative, and they are in charge of the rebellion underground, in a bunker. Katniss is the image of the cause because of the arrow she shot and the game she played with Peeta to get out of their first hunger games alive. She has to do some promos. Peeta is still in the capitol, they get to rescue him but he's not the same. There's a war, a lot of people die and finally, they get to the capitol and take it.

This story is a prequel of the other 3, where it is shown how live was when Snow (the President) was young. His life after the first rebelion and how he started to become part of the Hunger Games as a mentor.
