The italian grip

The Italian grip of the foil is a historical grip that is no longer used in modern fencing. It was characterized by a particular shape that made it different from the anatomical and French grips used today.

Advantages: Control: The Italian grip offered good control over the foil. Power: The shape of the grip allowed for greater power to be applied to the thrusts. Disadvantages: Comfort: The Italian grip could be less comfortable than modern grips. Precision: The shape of the Italian grip could make it more difficult to be precise with the thrusts.

This is for sabre but it can be also for the others.

Is not usually give this tag, but you are expelled . It can be given after some important problem.

Black tag

Is just a warning, and often it is given for unimportant rules.

Yellow tag

This tag is given after two yellow tags. This tag give one point to the opponent.

How to hold a foil?

The anatomical grip of the foil is one of the two most commonly used grips in fencing

The anatomical grip

Advantages:Comfort: The anatomical grip is designed to be comfortable to hold, even for extended periods. Control: The anatomical grip provides good control over the foil. Precision: The anatomical grip can help improve the accuracy of the thrusts. Disadvantages: Cost: Anatomical grips can be more expensive than French grips. Durability: Plastic anatomical grips may be less durable than rubber or wooden ones.

here there is a video that explain the fencing's rules...

This is for sabre.

The French grip of the foil is designed to be lightweight and maneuverable, offering a comfortable and secure grip.

The french grip

Advantages: Lightweight: The French grip is lighter than the anatomical grip, making it more maneuverable. Balance: The French grip is well-balanced, which helps improve the accuracy of the thrusts. Cost: French grips are generally less expensive than anatomical grips. Disadvantages: Comfort: The French grip may be less comfortable than the anatomical grip for some fencers. Control: The French grip may offer slightly less control than the anatomical grip.
