In Spain the importance of the secondary sector depends of the kind of activity.
The tertiary sector in spain also known as the "service sector", is the economic activity which satisfy personal needs.
Primary sector in the spanish economy:Fourth largest agrarian producer.
In mining the importance is really low, but is important in the EU.
IT IS VITAL BECAUSE: Effects on other economic activities(raw materials, food one of the most important.) High contribution to exports. Environmental value: agriculture protects the soil from erosion in a country where almost three quarters of the territory is a risk of desertification.
It has different services. They can be public or not, This differenciation, means that the money you are investing, goes to a singular or to the country for different country projects, for example infrastructures. The most important activity in this sector in tourism.
In energy we are highly dependent on imported fossil fuels and there ia a presence of renewable energies.
In construction it was an important activity until the crisis of 2008, that make the contruction declained.
Furthermore, nowadays in industry the importance is declaining but still it is the most important activity .
Spanish Transport Network
1. OVERLAND TRANSPORT: Radial structure. Two types: Road and Rail network. ROAD NETWORK: Connect capital with cities. Problems: Poor communication, high congestion, etc. To solve them: Grid-shaped network. RAIL NETWORK:Modernised -> high- speed extension lines and connections to European networks. RENFE:main spanish train operator.Runs AVE: connects Spain's major cities at more than 310 km/h.
. MARITIME TRANSPORT:Means of transport where goods or people are transported via sea routes.Main means of transport for shipping raw materials. Maritime containers: created in 1960. Improved its development. Maritime containers can transport any goods.However, these containers have other advantages: Limits damage risks, limits risk of being broken or stolen, and reduce transport costs.
3. AIR TRANSPORT: Activity of moving people or goods by air. TYPES: Combi aircraft, Cargo aircraft and Super transporters.CHARACTERISTICS: Speed, reliability and freedom (limits of accessing remote controls). DISADVANTAGES: High cost, Legal limitations and Technical limitations (dimensions and aircraft capacity).
PROBLEMS CAUSED BY TRANSPORT: High levels of pollution, Alteration of natural habitats and landscape, Traffic congestion and noise pollution, and Spills and solid waste.
TRANSPORT IN THE SDGs: GOAL 11-> Essential: Public transport network. Connects all city areas.GOAL 12->Transporting goods-> consume-> pollution. Essential: promote clean transport use for products. GOAL 13-> Promotes-> clean means of transport, Introduces-> regulated emissions, Sustainable technology and fuels development-> clean electricity supply, Eliminates tax benefits-> fuels.
