Hydraulic energy,is a type of energy that takes advantage from the movement of the water. It allows different types of energy to be obtained, thanks to the use of kinetic and potential energy.

What is hydraulic energy?

Where is produced?

It is obtained in hydroelectric plants, which impound river and lake water in dams and this is released in a controlled manner, causing it to move a turbine and generating energy. Some dams operate on the entire flow of the river while others divert part of its flow.

Its advantages

-It is a renewable energy, whose source is practically inexhaustible.-It is safe, it doesn't generate toxic waste, which makes it a clean energy that is respectful with the environment. -It produces energy based on needs, that is, its production is flexible. -It is stable, it doesn't depend on rain to produce energy, since there are significant water reserves. -It is economical, since it doesn't waste river water, neither it affect its drying.
-It allows the use of other renewable sources, such us wind or solar. -It helps combat climate changes and improves the air we breathe.

How does it work?

-River water accumulates in a reservoir, where it has potential energy. -A gate opens and water falls through pipes, where it acquires kinetic energy.
Hydrualic energy is that obtained from harnessing the force of moving water. To generate it, a hydroelectric plant is used which works as follows.
-The water moves a turbine, which produces mechanical energy. -The turbine is connected to a generator, which converts the energy into electricity.

What sources of energy does it produce?

Sometimes also called water energy, it allows electricity to be obtained thanks to the use of kinetic and potential energy of water currents or waterfalls. It is a clean and renewable energy that uses the power of streams, rivers and waterfalls.

Its disadvantages

-It is difficult to find the best place to get the most out of this renewable energy, which depends on geographical and climatic factors. -Building a hydroelectric plant is very expensive, both in economic terms and in terms of human and material resources.
-It can negatively affect the environment, with regard to the construction of hydroelectric plants and the changes it generates in the ecosystem. -Dry seasons can be a problem as they reduce the flow of water available to generate electricity.

Thank you very much for your attention!!!
