E' un pannello di legno formato da più fogli sottili incollati tra loro.I fogli si possono ottenere per tranciatura o per sfogliatura. I legni sfogliati sono di minor pregio quelli tranciati invece di maggiore. Dopo vengono portati all'essiccatoio, e poi tagliate in pezzi di identica lunghezza.

I tamburati sono formati al centro da listelli incrociati tra loro, rivestiti da due strati di compensato. Sono più leggeri dei paniforti e possono avere uno spessore maggiore.

sono conosciuti con il nome masonite.La loro lavorazione è simile a quella della carta. Dopo la lavorazione si ottengono pannelli di tipo soffice che ha ottime proprietà di isolamento termico e acustico.

I Pannelli Truciolari e il Legno Lamellare

I pannelli truciolari

I pannelli truciolari si fabbricano impiegando legni comuni e scarti di segheria, rami e radici, ridotti in trucioli che vengono mescolati con resine sintetiche e pressati ad alta temperatura.

Il legno lamellare è formato da tavole ottenute dal taglio del tronco, unite tra loro con colle sintetiche ad alta resistenza.

La materia prima ausiliare sono le fibre vegetali, che per essere trasformate in carta, devono essere opportunamente lavorate e mescolate con le altre sostanze denominate ausiliarie.

La Preparazione della Pasta

i vari tipi di pasta

• La pasta chimica o di cellulosa: la cellulosa si ottiene dopo un procedimento chimico.

• Le paste semichimiche: hanno un ciclo produttivo molto simile a quello chimico.

• Le paste ad alta resa sono prodotte ammorbidendo la lignina.

• La pasta meccanica si ottiene sfibrando il legno esclusivamente per via meccanica.

In questo procedimento i tronchetti di legno vengono scortecciati e pressati contro una mola rotante. La pasta ottenuta viene raffinata e sbiancata.

L'inbiancamento delle paste veniva fatto con il cloro, che è un elemento inquinante. attualmente in Europa la maggior pante dei produttori utilizzava sostanze di imbianchimento alternative.

Si usa per ottenere la pasta di cellulosa e per le paste ad alta resa. Dopo il procedimento e il lavaggio finale, le paste sono pronte per essere utilizzate.

La Produzione della Carta

come si produce

I materiali fibrosi vengono trasformati in fogli di carta con una macchina detta macchina continua. I fogli escono dalla macchina in forma di rotoli. Una volta usciti dalla macchina, i fogli possono essere sottoposti a ulteriori operazioni, come la patinatura e la calandratura, che rendono la superficie del foglio perfettamente livellata, lucida e brillante.
