ZImmerman telegram
SELECTIVE SERVICE ACT
The zimmerman telegram was an intercepted letter designated for mexico to step in the war on germany's side, promising the return of once-mexican lands taken from america. This had greatly angered the US, leading them into WW1
INtroduced drafting to ensure troops readily available to aid in WW1. This is significant as it shows a shift in the american military that was once small and not as advanced.
