INTRODUCCTION OF THE COMPOST
Introduction (compost).
Composting is a natural (biological) process of aerobic decomposition favored mainly by saprophytic fungi and bacteria, which also involves algae, protozoa, arthropods, molluscs and annelids. Installing a compost bin is a demanding task in the kitchen garden project of the Colonos school, but once installed, it will become one of the icons of the project. The installation and assembly of the compost bin involves the development of many competences in the students, which will keep them active and linked to the project.

Who has never been intrigued by the beauty of plant forms? The regularity and symetry offered by biology exhibit amazing mathematical features which are still subjects of study. The golden section and the 'fibonacci' ratio on behalf of Mathematics and the phyllotaxy on behalf of Biology provide certain plants with a special beauty.

STEPS TAKEN
We made a draft with the ideas we had in mind, and once we designed the plan, we agreed on the materials we would use. We bought everything we needed, such as planters. We didn't have to buy the compost bin because it has been given away to us and most of the seeds were collected by the Biology students. The next step is to build the garden. After that, we will install the compost bin and the planters, in order to finally plant the biological specimens. In the end, we will be able to do mathematical, ecological and botanical studies there.
