अयं अध्यायः दश बालकाः स्नानार्थं नदीं गतवन्तः । यदा च ते पुनः आगत्य बालकानां संख्यां गणयन्ति स्म तदा ते तदा स्वयमेव गणयितुं विस्मरन्ति स्म, दशमः बालकः नदीयां मग्नः इति चिन्तयन्ति स्म, यावत् एकः पथिकः तान् तत्र नेता गणयितुं न अवदत् यत् सः दशमः अस्ति|
