Horacio Raul Pagani was born on 10 November 1955 in Casilda, Santa Fe, Argentina.Without speaking Italian, he joined Lamborghini where, after a rapid rise, he became a specialist in composite materials. He left the company in 1988 to set up his own business: Pagani Composite Research. At the same time, he developed a new supercar model, the C8, destined to be called the Fangio F1. The first wind tunnel tests took place in 1992, the year in which he founded Pagani Automobili S.p.A. However, after Fangio's death in 1995, Pagani renamed the car Zonda, a wind from the Andes3.
