- Your mixed recycling bin is collected fortnightly
- The standard size mixed recycling bin is 240 litres
- Glass bottle and jars no longer go in your mixed recycling bin

- Your food and garden organics (FOGO) bin is collected fortnightly between January and September, and weekly between October and December
- The standard size FOGO bin is 240 litres
- Your food and garden waste is turned into compost and used to rehabilitate our landfill sites

Use this bin for:
- Plastic bottles and containers
- Paper and cardboard
- Aluminium cans and foil
- Steel tins
Your new mixed recycling bin
- Your new glass recycling bin is collected monthly/every 4 weeks
- The size of the bin is 120 litres
- The glass we collect will be taken to Warrnambool for cleaning
- The cleaned glass will then go to a glass benefication plant in Melbourne for sorting and recycling back into glass bottles and jars.
- Contaminated glass will be used as a road base supplement.

- As part of the glass rollout, you will get a new general rubbish bin
- Your old general rubbish bin will be re-lidded with a purple lid and become your glass bin
- The standard size general rubbish bin is 120 litres
- Food scraps no longer go into this bin

Use this bin for food scraps and garden clippings including:
- Fruit and vegetable scraps
- Meat, bones, seafood and eggshells
- Bread and meal leftovers
- Leaves, plants, twigs and grass
Your food and garden organics bin
Use this bin for:
- Glass bottles including beer, wine and olive oil bottles
- Glass jars including pasta sauce and condiment jars
- Lids off
Your new glass recycling bin
Use this bin only for items that can’t be reused or recycled.
- Nappies and wet wipes
- Broken glassware, crockery and mirrors
- Kitty litter and animal droppings
- Old clothing, shoes or textiles that can't be repaired or donated
