Remember
Les propositions en IF (au présent) If Mark doesn't find a way to communicate with the Earth, he will die alone on Mars.
He will die alone on Mars if he doesn't find a way to communicate with the Earth.
Practice
Practice
Use these conditions and results to build logical sentences.
Conditions: Results:
- learn more about the red planet - be easier to live there - be able to live on Mars - not be able to travel to Earth very often - have enough water to live there
- grow food on Mars - melt the glaciers on the red planet - bring back rocks from Mars - find a way to increase temperature on Mars -settle on Mars
Practice
Use these conditions and results to build logical sentences.
From fiction to reality
Remember
EXPRIMER UNE MANIERE DE FAIRE: De manière générale: BY + V-ING NASA prepares astronauts to life on Mars by doing Mars analog missions. It's the method that best prepares astronauts to Mars.
Your Mission
You work for NASA's communication team. Explain to the press how NASA will prepare for space in the short future.
Give examples of possible future missions.

The Moon, Mars...Why do explore space?
Spot the information in your text and answer the questions. 1. Why do we need to settle in space in order to survive ? 2. What great technologies do we have thanks to space exploration? 3. How can we use the materials we find in space? 4. How often do asteroids appear close to our world?
The Moon, Mars...Why do explore space?
Observe:
Larger asteroids could do a lot of damage on our planet. Not trying to explore space would be like castaways not trying to escape their desert island.
Remember!
Stopping space exploration would be crazy!
Asteroids could damage or destroy the Earth.

Practice:
Translate the sentences into English:
d) Si on pollue trop, on pourrait détruire notre planète.
