How did I integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?
Hardware and software difference : Computer hardware is a collective term used to describe any of the physical components of an analog or digital computer. The term hardware distinguishes the tangible aspects of a computing device from software, which consists of written, machine-readable instructions or programs that tell physical components what to do and when to execute the instructions. What is hardware and software ?
Microsoft word is a piece of software where you can create written documents or tables for any purpose.
Photoshop allows a person to edit photos to increase certain aspects of them, or remove anything they do not find desirable
What Software I used
Indesign
Indesign is a piece of software that allows you to create magazine front covers/ pages or posters ext.
Photoshop
Microsoft word
A PDF file is used when exporting certain things as images which can later be shown in other applications.

Preview allows for photos or edits to be seen brfore using them.
Indesign
I used in design when creating my magazine front cover, contents page and double page spreads. What I liked about Indesign was how it was extremely easy to add images from other pieces of software e.g photoshop to Indesign.

Also Indesign makes sorting and ordering layers especially easy. For example this was really important for me as I had to use the different layers to create the effect of the main image overlaping the front cover main header. Also it was very easy to save and export.
I feel like even though I did not have to worry about the cost of the application because of my school I can recognise how this could be a problem for someone outside of eduction. This is because the subscripton cost is very high at around £20.00 a month
indesign is a piece of software that is very demanding when it comes to storage, this was an issue for me as I first tried to download this on my own comuter but was unable to as i did not have enough storage even though i had not downloaded anything else.

Some downsides are as followes. For a start I think that Indesighn can be relativley dificult to get to grips with, especially for me considering I had not done a computing related qualification prior to Media AS level. The large amount of tools played a big part in this as to start with I was unsure where to focus on and what to use.

Photoshop
I used photoshop extencivley when editing the many photos that I took for my magazine product. Specifically I used it to blur the image with a gaussian blur. But also I also used the software to crop certain images and Keep certain things in focus and certain things out of focus.

Some of the advantages of using photoshop include, that it has a wide range of functions this could be from cropping an image to editing the light and colour gradient of the image. This is definatley a good thing for me as I was given a huge amaount of options when it came to editing my photos. Another example of an advantage would be how photoshop is avalible on almost all platforms from windows to macs ext. This was crucial for me as I had a windows computer at home to use for editing and it worked fine. The fact that it supportas all photo/ image formats its a plus as you dont have to worry abourt exporting an image before editing it.

There are some dissagvantages though. One such disagvantage is that it can be pricey. Even though I did not encounter this problem when looking at rhe price you are forcede to pay for a subscription and not a one off payment which could be an issue if you can't afford it. Just like Indesign, photoshop is not beginner friendly as I found out. the large number of tools and techniques can be confusing. Finally I experienced some preformance issues when using Photoshop on my computer, this was because photoshop demands a powerfull computer to run effectivley.

Microsoft word
I used Microsoft word to create my photography plan for when I went to the wildlife park to take photos. I also used it to create my photography plan. Some advantages include how It is very user friendly and is not as complicated to use as some other softwares like photoshop and Indesign. Also I love how it has spell check which makes keeping your document looking proffesional. It also offers templates and finally it can be saved and exported very eaisily.

Some dissadvantages of using Microsoft word could be again the cost of the application, as I said before the subscription may be too expensive for some people. Also the sharing ability is somewhat limited when you compair it to something like google docs. As it it constantley updated on my computer I had the old version which created inconsistencies when editing my plans on the newer version on the school computers.
Preview
Preview allowed me to look at my photos before and after editing so I could crop them to how I wanted them. I couldent really fault it as it did everything it was supposed to do as expected.
PDF files
PDF files are a great way of exporting files when finished as they are read only files, but one downside is that you cant edit them once made so if you want to make changes you would have to delete the file and create a new one. Other than that I cant really fault it as they did what they were intended to do. I used pdf files for my final images of my front cover.
The SD card is used for transfering photos off the camera onto a computer.
I used a camera to take photos of various different animals whils at the wildlife park.

Computers were essential in my completion of my magazine as I used them to do all my work.

I used two computers when edditing and forming my product, one was a mac at school and the other was my own windows at home. It was essential as I was only able to use the software listed before on a laptop.

I used the Lumix GH4. I felt that this camera was a perfect fit for what I needed. What Iliked about it was the touch screen and how it was small and lightweight which made it easy to use and easy to position. When using the camera I learnt how to edit the apeture which was essential to getting photos through the mesh that lined the cages of the bird enclosures.
SD card
I used the SD card for moving my photos off the camera and onto the mac at school. This worked well for me as it was extremely simple and it had a lot of storage.
These are all google applications that I have used in the creation of my product .

This presentation will be on Wordpress. Again this shows how centeral to the corsework it is. Overall it is quite an easy piece of kit to use as it is set out like blog posts and you can add amultitude of things fromphotos to imagaes to even files.

Google classroom was also esential to my corsework as my teacher was always adding useful links and support documents to help guide me throught what was expected in the corsework.
Google applications
First I used google slides to organise my photos which i took from the wildlife park. I think it works well because its very user friendly and allows a person to be creative and there are lots of good templates. I used google docs to write my article before writing it onto my magazine straight away, this was because it would be easier to write then copy and paste into position.
