Phonics

What it looks like: I use sensory clues to see and feel how letters form in my mouth, as well as how they look and sound when I read and write them.
I can learn the pattern of words spelled with suffixes & prefixes and spelling rules that go with them for how to read & write them.
Goal: Understand how sounds are connected to letters and words.

Math

What it looks like:

I will write and solve doubles equations.

I can understand the place value of the digits in a 2-digit or 3-digit number.
Goal: This helps me understand how numbers can help me solve problems.

Writing

Goal: Every thing we can learn about writing a good sentence or paragraph is something we will use to communicate for all time!

I can focus on my schema and monitoring for meaning to write a product that readers can infer from. I can include words that evoke reader's senses.

Standard: Recall information from experiences or gather information from sources to answer a question or present knowledge Produce clear and coherent writing in which development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.

Reading

Standard: Use key ideas and details to activate schema and background knowledge to construct meaning or understanding.
I can ID and use my metacognition super-learning skills of schema, monitoring for meaning, determining important information, asking questions, inferring, and noticing sensory information to be an active reader so I can truly understand what I am reading!

Social Studies/ Science

What it Looks LikeI can gather evidence from different sources to identify or describe things I see in the sky.

I can ask questions and draw conclusions about the location of my community. I can determine important information about what makes my community unique.
Goal: I can understand the world around me.

Social Studies/ Science

Reading
