Module 2 Lab: Validity & Relibility assignment
What is the relationship between validity and reliability?
Reliability
Validity
The relationship betwen validity and reliability is simple. Validity provides a accuracy of results and reliability provides consistency of results. Outcome of results will not be valid uncless it is consitant. For example, an assessment will not provide great results unless it is consitant.
The consistency of results in which is measured repetitively
The accuracy of a method in which is intended to measure
The effective way to estiamte the relibility of a test is the consistency of the results in which students developed. For example, a question that is asked for every student on the test and all students result into different incorrect answers, the probability of the question being unclear is likely. If a purpose of a test is to develope a consistent answer, the test would be considered reliabile for students.
Valdiity must state information provided and presented on a test. For example: information provided about living oranisims must ask questions about livinvg oransisms in which validity is measured
3 ways to increase validity & reliability in a classroom? - using different grading methods - Spliting a group a students in half to take 2 different types of test for results. -Create clear objectives and goals for students
Validity is important because it defines the purpose of what is expected and intended to do. It also measures how accurate a test is and if the test can be used as a reliabile source for future students
Reliability is important to because it defines if a test can be considered a reliable source for students learning and progress. The importance of reliability provides feedback for educators on student learning such as needing improvement and providing more academic information.
