Role of Beliefs in Philosophy of Education
As mentioned many times in the textbook, each professional has their own way of teaching Philosophy comes in the moment you step into your classroom The most obvious example of this is when you create your planner for the entire school year.
- Which topic is more important?
- Will we have a review over this topic?
- Should I even test them over Chapter 6?
- Perennialism: suggest that nature is constant and schools should teach content that have withstood the test of time
- Progressivness: emphasizes real-wrold problem solving and individial personal development
- Essentialism: suggest that specific knowlege and skills exist that all people should possess (focus on basic skills)
- Social Reconstructions: asserts that schools, teachers and students should take leas in addressing social problems and improving society
