A.What is the internet?
The Internet is a global network that connects computers, tablets, mobile phones, televisions and even electrical appliances.
We use the Internet for many things:
- to search for information
- to communicate with other people by text, voice and video.
- to play games with other people.
- to watch films, listen to music, learn, shop, etc.

Glossary
We find information on the Internet on websites. These have a text, images and links to other websites. They often have videos and audio files.
Each website has a unique name called a URL ( uniform resource locator) or web address. It helps us to find and identify the website quickly. All websites form part of the world wide web , or web. For this reason, they usually start with www.
Web addresses begin with http://, https://. Those that begin with https:// are secure websites
In the address bar, http://,https:// and www are often hidden to save space.
The URL , or web address, is at the top of the screen in the address bar.

Use more than account It is a good idea to have one account for important things and another account for other things , such as video games.

- .es is the domain from Spain. Find two more countries' domain.

- Appliances: Aparatos eléctricos
- Devices: Instrumentos, aparatos, utensilios.
- Stand for: Significar ( siglas, abreviaturas )
- URL: Localizador uniforme de recursos.

We can use instant messaging to send and receive messages immediately. We can send text messages, voice messages, images, videos, etc... The most popular apps are Whatsapp, Telegram, Skype, Discord and Snapchat
We can use email to send text messages with many different types of attachments. When we receive an email we do not have to reply to it immediately. The best known email providers are Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo
