Australia is famous for its wildlife. Kangaroo is the country's national symbol. There are around 35 milions kangaroos in the country and only in Australia. Comparing that to australia's human population of just 21 milion the kangaroos are much more than the humans! Kangaroos are marsupials, it means they have a pouch where their babies grow. Australia has many other marsupials animals like koalas, possums, sugar gliders and more. Australia is in the Pacific Ocean and it has hundreds of beaches. In the north of the country there is the Coral sea with the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef has an impressive amount of marine life. More than 1,500 fish species, 17 species of sea snake, and at lest 300 species of ascidians live on the reef to breed.Six species of sea turtles come to the reef to breed and 30 species of whales, doplphins and porpoises have been recorded there. As well as the 1,500 species of fish, there are over 133 types of rays and sharks and 30 species of dolphins and whales

When The Great Barrier Reef is dead, coral looks like stone, but it is actually made up of live organisms, called polyps. The Great Barrier reef is 344,400 kilometres long. It is home to thousands of fish. Sadly, this rich enviroment is in danger because of climate change. If it dies, these fish will disappear, too. We have to stop pollution now, or we will lose this beatiful part of the australian coast
