Literary Review: Housing Crisis
through the lens of Conflict Theory
Inequality
Discrimination
Unfair pay gap
Competition for Resources
Unfairness in Wages
One example of conflict theory as represented in the housing crisis would be the wage gap. Some groups will percieve that because a group has more money, that means they have more power. This in turn leads to negative perception about ones class in society as well as keeps these people from trying to pursue higher wages, but instead equal wages. References:

Social Groups Compete for Resources
Link
There is a direct correlation with hostility between groups of people within a society, which can make things difficult and not run properly. One group has more resources than the other, thus breeding hostility to the more elite or upper class. References:

Discrimination in Housing communitees
Link
In one article, the author explains that there is discrimination in the form of racism sometimes in the hosuing industry. Loans at one time were harder to come by for minorities, but now loaners have raised prices and taken advantage of the lack of knowledge of the industry. References:

Inequality amongst groups
Each group views one another in a sort of hierarchy, the rich at the top while the poor working class at the bottom. Those who are making the higher wages or are in the government have the advantage over most of society. Resources are particularly more available to the rich over the poor, and this includes housing. We don't like to bore. We don't want to be repetitive. Communicating the same way is boring and doesn't hook. We do it differently. We sabotage boredom. We create what the brain likes to consume because it stimulates it.
