ES UN TIPO DE COMUNICACIÓN INCOMPLETA, YA QUE A TRAVÉS DE LOS GESTOS Y LOS MOVIMIENTOS CORPORALES NO PODEMOS EXPRESAR PLENAMENTE TODOS NUESTROS PENSAMIENTOS, TIENE MUCHAS LIMITACIONES Y ES EL RECEPTOR QUIEN DEBE INTERPRETAR TODO EL MENSAJ EN CASO DE QUE NO PUEDA UTILIZAR EL LENGUAJE VERBAL.(STOKOE 1960)

• ES UN LENGUAJE NO VERBAL, QUE EMPLEA GESTOS FACIALES, MANUALES Y CORPORALES. • ES UN COMPLEMENTO DEL LENGUAJE ORAL, COMO YA SE HA DICHO ES ALGO QUE APRENDEMOS DE LOS NIÑOS, YA SEA CONSCIENTE O INCONSCIENTEMENTE CON LOS GESTOS PODEMOS DAR MÁS ÉNFASIS A NUESTRAS PALABRAS O POR EL CONTRARIO NEGAR LO QUE ESTAMOS DICIENDO.

Según Ivern (2004) “hacer mimo” significa expresar y comunicar emociones, ideas, situaciones reales ficticias, por medio de acciones, actitudes y gestos.
