FUTURE TENSE IN ENGLISH

What is the future tense?

The future tense is used to express events that will take place in the future. It is a verb tense that is used to describe actions that will occur at a later time or after a certain point in the present.

Types of future tense.

future actions happen without the speaker's intention (birthday, weather, etc.) predictions, assumptions (I think, I hope, I'm sure, I'm afraid promises, threats spontaneous actions (not planned)

will / won't + infinitive

be going to + infinitive

planned actions in the future. You are certain that sth. is going to happen in the future (logical consequence).

The sun will shine tomorrow. Peter will be 15 next Tuesday. I think Sue will arrive in Paris at 6 pm. I promise I will learn the poem by heart. Hang on! I'll have a word with you. We are going to sing at the party. Look at that car! It is going to crash into the yellow one. The train leaves at 5. He's going to a new school next term. I think I might play a match tomorrow. I'm not sure. When I come to school, the other kids will be waiting for me. We'll be going to the disco on Saturday.

An action will be in progress at a certain time in the future. This action has begun before the certain time.Something happens because it normally happens.
