Identifying students & families
Washburn uses a variety of methods to identify students and families that could benefit from their services. Individuals are identified as needing support from a partner of Washburn Center for Children. From there, an application is filled out and the process begins. Whether being referred by a school, a health care professional, a family member, or a community partner, individuals are referred to Washburn Center for Children and placed with the appropriate services once an intake interview has been done. If a family has utilized Washburn Center's services before, they may return for additional support for their child or another family member.
Qualification for Services
Once a student is referred to Washburn Center, their eligibility for services will be determined through an intake process. This includes taking the initial referral into consideration as well as taking assessments and evaluations to gather information about the needs, symptoms, strengths, and goals. From there, students and families are paired with specific services or treatment options that are tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
