THE ROLLING STONES

Biography

The Rolling Stones are a rock group formed in 1962, which was based on Chicago blues styles. The members were Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. The Rolling Stones disbanded briefly in the late 1980s after a public dispute between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. The band, however, reunited in 1989 for their Steel Wheels album and tour. The musical history of the Rolling Stones begins in 1960, when Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, two old classmates, began to share their passion for music and rhythm & blues. The following year they created a group, Little Boy Blue & Blue Boys, with Jack Taylor. The Rolling Stones became known as a result of the addition of the talented multi-instrumentalist Brian Jones to Jagger and Richards prompting a name change to The Rolling Stones. With a dynamic lineup, the band gained immense popularity, producing iconic hits such as "Satisfaction" and "Paint It, Black." Despite facing challenges, including Jones' tragic death in 1969, The Rolling Stones endured, solidifying their status as rock legends with a legacy spanning decades.
