Symbolism: Angels and Mother Angels symbolize hope, love, and light. They are also associated with Heaven. A mom can symbolize strong bonds and deep connections. "Because I feel that, in the Heavens above, The angels, whispering to one another, Can find, among their burning terms of love, None so devotional as that of 'Mother'"
I rate the poem, To My Mother, 4 out of 5 stars. It's a short poem and I can easily understand what the poet is describing but at the same time, it holds meaning. I can tell how much Poe loved his mother-in-law and how dear she was to him.
Virginia Eliza Poe was the wife of Edgar Allan Poe. She is related to the story because he talks about how Maria Poe was the mother of the person he loved dearly.
