El 20 de novembre de 1975

Data de mort de Francisco Franco.

Juan Carlos de Borbó, que fins aleshores s’havia quedat en un segon pla, es converteix en protagonista polític. Volia portar a terme el fenomen polític anomenat Transició (del 1975 fins a 1978).

La Transició espanyola és el període històric en què es va desenvolupar el procés pel qual Espanya deixa de ser un règim dictatorial del general Francisco Franco i passa a ser un estat democràtic.

TRANSICIÓ ESPANYOLA

Reformes polítiques:

  • Legalització de tots els partits polítics
  • Van deixar en llibertat a totes aquelles persones que estaven a la presó per motius polítics a més de deixar entrar a totes aquelles persones exiliades.
  • Es van celebrar eleccions democràtiques el 1977.
  • Es va redactar una nova Constitució el 6 de desembre del 1978.

TRANSICIÓ ESPANYOLA

La Constitució de 1978 no va ser tan lliberal com la de 1931:

  • Espanya reconeix les regions autònomes, posteriorment seran les comunitats autònomes.
  • Es va establir la divisió de poder: executiu, legislatiu i judicial.
  • La població d’Espanya pot votar lliurement en les eleccions.
  • Espanya es declara una Monarquia Parlamentària, on el monarca es cap d’estat, però no mana en cap dels tres poders esmentats anteriorment.

1981

L’any 1981 va ser un període amb molta tensió, ja que un grup militar dirigit pel coronel de la guàrdia civil Tejero va donar un cop d’estat al “Congreso de los Diputados”. Afortunadament, el cop d’estat no va tenir suport per part del rei Juan Carlos I, el que va causar que no seguis endavant.

1982

El 1982 el PSOE (Partit Obrer Socialista Espanyol) va guanyar les eleccions.

CULTURA

Amb la mort del Franco, es va acabar la censura. Més llibertat creativa, augment de l'exploració de diferents estils i temes per part d'artistes, músics i escriptors. A causa de la repressió anterior, es va produir un auge dels moviments rebels i dels estils musicals, com el punk i el rock.

ECONOMIA

TRANSICIÓ ESPANYOLA

El franquisme va deixar una economia endarrerida i poc competitiva. Els primers governs democràtics van engegar mesures d’urgència amb l'objectiu de modernitzar el país. El creixement econòmic no va començar fins al 1986.
