Overall Feedback
The course was extremely helpful to get a great overview of the subject as well as to learn practical steps to apply.
The course provides clear explanations of these principles and their application in development programming, making it accessible for individuals like me with varying levels of knowledge and expertise.
Huge amount of content, so useful to have a summary at the end of each lesson, so participants can remember what they have learned from each lesson, especially if they take the course over an extended period of time.

Overall Feedback
It is a well-structured course, especially the sharing of experiences from experts who have tested the principles.
Recommended to gender focal points who are supporting their agencies on the development of the UNSDCF; to Programme Management Team; to the RC Office, to support their facilitation of the process.
Video testimonial
Very grateful to UNSSC staff for their efforts, enthusiasm and collaboration. I think the course is very well designed for more standard development settings. As mentioned above, there should be more content, examples and discussions suited for UNCT teams working on the CFs in highly volatile contexts. Keep up the good work!

Key Takeaways & Lessons Learned
I think it would have been great to leave a bit more room for discussion for every webinar, not just in written form in the portal. The participants would be able to reflect more on the course material, ask questions and get into a more meaningful exchange with each other.
Format
- More “live” interactive sessions – opportunities for colleagues to share amongst themselves
- Encourage pair participation from colleagues in the same country – to be more meaningful
- Spacing out the weeks – to give colleagues time to catch up on all materials
- Explore possibility of in person sessions
Encourage pair-participation into a same office. for example, ask for at least 2 participants in the same country or office to foster concrete application /exercise from the field.
The speed of the course is too fast. Give more time. For example, one week or two weeks for self study in between webinars. Remember this course is for professionals with busy agendas...
This could be done in person, maybe for each country.

Key Takeaways & Lessons Learned
I have shared with RC and RCO the summary points of the course. I will revisit them when we are working on UNSDCF processes.
- Course most useful for those directly engaged in the UNSDCF process
- Time commitments a key factor in completion rates
- Participants engaging in parts that were most relevant for them e.g., some attended all webinars but did not go through modules
- Nominations from countries delivered mixed results
Participants
Conflicting priorities and a few missions to the countries which do not allow dedicating time for learning.
The training team made every effort to keep to the programme schedule, which is part of the team's performance. Well done.
Moderated Course
Key Takeaways & Lessons Learned
It would be useful to have access to the course at least until the end of the UNSDCF design process in order to refresh best practices during the development of a new CCA/UNSDCF.
- Participants asked for the course to be offered as an ongoing resource throughout the CCA and UNSDCF process
- More time to access resources
- Translation of materials into other UN languages (French specifically highlighted)
Other Takeaways
I would have appreciated more time to read, listen, re-read and re-listen the course materials, and also the comments from various participants sharing their experience. I feel I am missing a lot by having skipped through those for lack of time.
Add sessions in French (and other UN languages)- it is preferable for French speaking countries to have these technical principles in their mother tongue- this would facilitate knowledge sharing.
2nd Edition
For the foundational course, a few updates will be made in the content – such as reflecting the Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR) 2023, Key Transitions, relevant outcomes of the SDG Summit, and where available, new policy guidance by DCO.
For the moderated course, the second edition will be based on lessons learnt from the first, including:
Giving participants more time to go through course materials
Increasing time for peer-exchange and interactions among the participants
Strengthening focus on technical aspects of the guiding principles integration
2nd Edition
Target audience
The moderated course will retain its focus on UN staff primarily involved in the UNSDCF process and will target 2024 UNSDCF design as well as roll-out countries. 2025 design countries might also benefit from the course.
Timeline
With the buy –in and collaboration of the inter-agency project team will run from April to June 2024.
2nd Edition
Run for 12 rather than 6 weeks to give more time for participants to go through the course
