“Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.”
Religious freedom, a fundamental human right, concerns the sphere of freedom of each of us, it belongs to the human being profoundly linked to freedom of thought and freedom of expression. In 31% of nations freedom of religion is violated. Persecution out of hatred for the faith, kidnappings, conversions and forced marriages with minors have increased overall. The nations where the most serious harassment occurs by placing them in the list of "Countries of particular concern", are 16 which include Burma, Central African Republic, China, Iran, Nigeria, Korea of the North, Pakistan, Russia, Syria and Vietnam.
In particular Iran is criticized for targeting religious minorities, particularly the Baha sect and Christians and the Islamic State of genocide against Yazidis, Christians and Shiites.

It was founded on January 26, 2015 in Rome. It is a Federation of Associations that fight for freedom of religion, belief and thought. It was born as an initiative to support the European Union's FORB program.
It is composed by 30 articles
I chose article 18 because I think that sharing one's thoughts and religion, if done with respect for others, is an excellent way to grow culturally and coexist peacefully in the world.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the inspiring document of international legislation on inalienable human rights, a set of rules at the basis of many civil achievements of the last 70 years. Eleanor Roosevelt, the one who contributed decisively to its drafting, defined it as "the Magna Carta of humanity".

July 7, 2013 was supposed to be a day of celebration for Taddeo Ma Daqin. The young priest was consecrated auxiliary bishop of Shanghai. But during the homily, Ma decided to announce in front of all the faithful that he would abandon the Patriotic Association, a surrogate of the Catholic Church created by the Chinese Communist Party in opposition to the Pope and Rome. After, the police waited for the bishop outside the church and arrested him, taking him to the Sheshan monastery "to rest". To punish him for opposing the party, the police deprived him of the possibility of going out in public and saying Mass for two years. Finally, they also revoked his title of bishop, which however remains valid for the Catholic Church.
