Florence is the capital of Tuscany, in 1865 it was proclaimed the capital of the Kingdom of Italy. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its current mayor is Dario Nardella.

WHERE IS

I am fascinated by the large amount of art in Florence.My favorite place is Piazza del Duomo where we can admire the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery of San Giovanni.

WHY I LIKE IT

THE FOUNTAIN OF THE PIGLET

It is a monument that represents a wild boar wounded during the hunt, is located in the Loggia del Mercato Nuovo. It’s customary to use the animal’s snout as a good luck charm and drop a coin in the grate below.

ALWAYS OPEN WINDOW OF THE GRIFFON PALACE

It is said that at the end of 1500 a young bride spent her whole life embroidering in front of the window of the Palazzo Grifoni, in Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, waiting for the delay of her husband from the war. Rumor has it, her ghost is still there, and closing that window causes strange phenomena.
