I am a Level 1 and 2 Google Certified Educator, as well as a Google Certified Trainer. I used Google Forms in my classroom initially as quick formative assessments and summative assessments, as I loved how easy they were to make and, my-oh-my, ALL.THAT.DATA! Then, when I discovered how versatile and rich Google Forms are, my mind was blown and Google Forms became my go-to for creating different engaging learning experiences for my students!
Google Forms came to my rescue when I was teaching Technology Applications and I had 300+ 6th graders! 14 classes in my grading system, 14 Google Classrooms, project based learning (so much grading). Google Forms not only kept me organized, it helped me connect with ALL of my students, differentiate for all students (I got them ALL), and the DATA!I am a Level 1 and 2 Google Certified Educator and LOVE leveraging Google Tools for learning and efficiency.

Tool/IdeaAboutLimitationsMote An extension that works well with Forms (and Slides); create a free account and record 30-second audio clips that embed directly into the form. *If your district has a DSA with Mote, students can create an account and then the audio would play directly in the form. Without an account, students will get a link that will open in a new tab. Read&Write An extension that will read all text on most sites, including forms. No work needed on the teacher’s end. Students can select the text (question and answer choices) they want read to them, activate the extension, and click PLAY.Students do need an account to use this (it is free though). Once the student clicks PLAY, it will keep reading the entire form, unless they click PAUSE or STOP. Teacher Video Teachers can record themselves reading the form (either whole form or one question at a time) using any screen recording tool they prefer. Then, they can upload it to their YouTube channel and embed the video directly into the form. This does work the best, especially for littles who can benefit from the visual and audio support, as it doesn’t require a DSA or adding any extensions. This can take up some time and has a few steps. In-Person Just like you would have to do with a paper/pencil activity, the teacher (or other student) could sit near the student and read each question/ answer choice to students who need that support.Finding the time/ opportunity to be available to do this, sometimes with multiple students.
