Clocking In & Out

ExecuTime is used throughout the City of McKinney

ExecuTime is the method of time recording used in McKinney. You are required to clock in and out for each shift. In cases where you cannot access ExecuTime, a supervisor can help with time recording.

Time Approval

Time approval is required every pay period

Pay periods occur every two weeks. They begin on Monday and end on Sunday. Employees must approve their own time sheet before Monday morning to give supervisors time to process those approvals. Supervisors must approve their employee's time for payroll processing by 10am the Monday following the end of the pay period.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

You can request PTO through ExecuTime

ExecuTime is where your PTO accrual and usage are kept track of, and where you can request off for different types of leaves. Your PTO types and accrual depends on your employement type. Full-time employees have different benefits than part-time and seasonal employees.

Web-based clocking in requires ethernet or VPN connection

VPN - Global Protect

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network

Many field employees choose to clock in on mobile devices for efficiency. If not using a city desktop with an ethernet cable, you must connect to the VPN - Global Protect. The Global Protect portal is mckvpn.mckinneytexas.org. Your log in credentials are your system username and password. This does not apply to employees clocking in through a console. Employee Personnel Policy 4.21 states that you must used city-issued devices (laptops, tablets, phones) for city business. (Updated January 2024)
