Academic vocabulary words are commonly used in academic texts, lectures, and discussions across a number of subjects. Academic vocabulary words are not the words people most often say or hear in casual conversation, but they are important and common in school and other educational settings. Many academic vocabulary words, like “analyze,” can be used in multiple subjects or fields. Additionally, many academic vocabulary words have multiple meanings, because their meanings are determined by context.
