The energy produced in the biomass plant comes from direct combustion. The biomass mixture gets put into a massive roasting hot boiler to produce really high pressure steam. The steam that just got produced flushes over turbine blades, the blades spin. when the blades spinning it triggers a generator. he generator produces electricity that we use for our homes and businesses.

The plant opened on the 13th of october 1932, it was originally a coal fired plant but two units got changed into a biomass plant. The plant has a 740MW capacity and can generate from around 200 MW up to 740MW. the biomass plant produces air pollutants which have a number of health harms, it can increase cancer risks, asthma attacks, respiritory issues, premature deaths, the pollutants can also interfere with the growth of crops. Deforestation, trees and forests get stripped down because major amounts of wood gets used for the plants.

A biomass plant produces a number of air pollutants.

There are loads of good things about a biomass plant, one of the main things is that it's a great source of renewable energy.

These air pollutants have a lot of impact on health, they can increase cancer risks, increase asthma attacks, respiratory issues, premature deaths and also sickness.

It's carbon neutral, it releases the same amount of carbon into the atmosphere as was absorbed by plants.

Because it's a renewable source of energy it means it's always and widely available.

Biomass plants also have big impacts on the environment, he pollutants can interfere with the growth of crops but most importantly deforestation, biomass plants are a big part of deforestation.

Biomass helps reduce waste and it is very reliable.
